Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

By creating an account, installing the Chrome extension, or using buildvsbuy.ai, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you use the product on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

2. The service

buildvsbuy.ai provides personal productivity intelligence for one Chrome profile. It measures how you use SaaS apps in that profile and surfaces KEEP / DOWNGRADE / AUTOMATE style recommendations. Recommendations are decision support, not legal, tax, accounting, or procurement advice. BUILD / REPLACE figures are estimates, not bids or quotes.

3. Chrome extension & usage measurement

• The official buildvsbuy.ai Chrome extension measures focused time and coarse URL signals (registrable domain, path patterns for known apps) in the paired Chrome profile only.
• By default we enable measurement of new HTTPS sites you visit (time-only) so we can discover SaaS apps in your Chrome profile. You may stop this anytime in Dashboard → Privacy (“Stop measuring new websites”), after which we only measure apps we already recognize or that you added under Subscriptions.
• The extension may request optional Chrome host access for HTTPS sites to support discovery. You can deny or later revoke that permission in Chrome or via the extension popup.
• We do not collect passwords, keystrokes, page HTML, private messages, clipboard contents, screenshots, or payment card data from visited sites.
• Banking, password-manager, and login-related domains may be excluded by default. You can add more exclusions in Privacy settings.
• You must only pair the extension on browsers and accounts you are authorized to monitor. Do not use the product for covert workplace surveillance without a lawful basis.

4. Accounts

• You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and paired extension installations.
• We may suspend accounts that abuse the platform, bypass identity checks, or violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

• Use only on accounts and browsers you are authorized to monitor.
• Do not attempt to bypass extension identity checks or abuse pairing codes.
• Do not use the product for covert employee surveillance without a lawful basis.
• Do not reverse-engineer, overload, or disrupt the service beyond normal use.

6. Subscriptions & pricing inputs

Dollar savings and plan comparisons depend on prices and seats you confirm. We do not invent your bill from public list prices. You are responsible for the accuracy of confirmed spend data.

7. Availability

The service is provided as-is. Features, detectors, and catalog coverage will change as the product matures. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that recommendations will be error-free.

8. Privacy

How we collect and use information is described in our Privacy Policy. Where these Terms and the Privacy Policy both address usage measurement, the Privacy Policy explains the data practices in more detail.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
